The Relationship Between Feng Shui And Fountains

Feng Shui and fountains are almost inseparable. Fountains play an important role in Feng Shui. The sound and movement of running water is supposed to activate the Chi or life force. Fountains symbolise the free flow of energy and are considered to bring luck and prosperity to a home.

According to Feng Shui, fountains stimulate positive energy. Therefore, they should be placed in rooms where the energy is stagnant. They add humidity to dry rooms and balance out energies. Fountains should be placed in the north, east and south east directions of a house. They enhance wood and water energies which represent career, family and wealth. Green plants, which represent wood energy, enhance the power of fountains.

The size of a fountain is irrelevant. What is important is the placement of fountain. Placing a fountain near the front door to your home attracts prosperity chi. Make sure that the flow of water faces the interior of the house. The material of the fountain also plays an important role. Copper fountains support the creative cycle, whereas stone, cement and ceramic fountains block the water energy. To change the energy of the latter three materials, try and use something metallic in or near the fountain.

The sound of the fountain should not be too loud or too soft. Clean the fountain regularly and maintain the level of water in it. By doing this you will be able to reap the benefits of the positive relationship between Feng Shui and fountains.
